You now know what the ERHF does, but it is far more important to know WHY it exists. Even before Emerson Rose was born and after her surgery we prayed that God would heal her but we came to ultimately pray that Jesus would use her to build His kingdom and to bring Him glory. Even now our prayer is that He will continue to use our sweet girl’s legacy for His greater purpose. Jesus is sovereign over birth defects (John 9:1-3) and life and death (1 Samuel 2:6) and this path has always been the plan for Emerson and our family (Eph 2:9-10).

If the ERHF were able to fund a project that would somehow eliminate heart defects and save every child, that would be temporary because they will still die. We all die. We desperately want to save children and serve the families who care for them, but we do this because we have an eternal perspective.

Sweet Emerson Rose gives us opportunities daily to share that regardless of the situation or circumstance you find yourself in, there is always hope and joy to be found in the darkest of times, in Jesus and Him alone (Phil 4:12). We have a Hope that even death cannot take and our life’s mission is to share this Hope with others (2 Cor 1:3-4). Jesus is sure when nothing else is. He is the God who redeems and in Him we can rest.
