On Oct. 24, 2014, 132 golfers, 53 volunteers and 52 sponsors joined together for the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation’s 4th annual golf tournament, presented by Bi Lo. The event, held at Brookstone Meadows Golf and Country Club, raised over $48,500 — $13,000 more than the previous year! The day was kicked off with a balloon launch of over 700 balloons in honor or memory of those affected by CHDs and ended with dinner and a silent auction.
We want to thank all our golfers, volunteers, donors and sponsors for helping to make our golf tournament such a success! We could not do the things we do without the support of everyone at the tournament.
This year, the ERHF implemented two new events that coincided the day of our annual golf tournament. ERHF supporters could participate in our first silent auction, where we auctioned off items including weekend getaways, handmade golf clubs and sports memorabilia, among other items.
Additionally, the ERHF hosted a reception, sponsored by Masimo Corp., for children and adults affected by CHDs. The children painted their handprints along with their name on an ERHF banner that we will bring back year after year. This reception provided an atmosphere that allowed families to come together and support each other while spreading hope and awareness. We look forward to seeing it grow each year to come!
