Zorigo is 5 years old and came to the United States with his mother, Oyuna, in March. Zorigo is from northern Mongolia and had surgery in Minnesota in 2011 for Tetralogy of Fallot. He had been having shortness of breath and found out that there was a narrowing again from his heart to his lungs which needed repair. His surgery in March went well and he is doing great back in Mongolia!
Zorigo is one of seven international children that the ERHF® brought to the U.S. in 2015, making a total of 12 children since the foundation started its Reaching Children Around the World project in 2014. The ERHF partners with Children’s Heart Project by funding the travel costs for each child to come receive lifesaving heart surgery in the U.S. The cost is about $2,000 per person, which these families could not afford on their own. We look forward to bringing even more children to the U.S. next year!
