Through my long journey full of surgeries and uncertainties, I wouldn’t change any of my story because of what the Lord has taught me. Leading up to my most recent operation, I was drifting in my faith as a result of being so consumed in myself. Being a 16-year-old girl in high school, I thought I had everything under control, which caused me to slip into a mindset of self-sufficiency. At the peak of this lie I was living, my heart quickly began to weaken. Suddenly, my life of playing sports, intense workouts, and my social life held no importance. Leading up to my surgery, I was faced with uncertainties that I could not endure on my own. Through my journey to restore my heart and recovering from my Melody Valve operation (2016) was the most incredible experience of my life. I learned to depend on the Lord in ways that I never have and experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit in powerful ways. I am so thankful for my CHD and that The Lord’s strength is made perfect in our weakness.
