Heart Story
Hear this story about Daniel from his mother, Ashley:
“I found out at 20 weeks there was something wrong with Daniel’s heart. I went to MUSC in Charleston South Carolina 3 times before I delivered him on April 10, 2023. I was so scared and stressed during my pregnancy and scared I was going to lose him. But I kept my faith and God pulled him through. I delivered him on April 10 2023 and he was 8 pounds, 7 ounces and had to go directly to the baby ICU. Once they got him to be stable they put him in the cardiac unit. After three days, he ended up being the youngest to have Truncus Arteriosis type 1 repair, and he pulled through! It was scary after his surgery because his chest had to remain open for a few days. But now he’s 8 weeks old and doing amazing!
The Emerson Rose Heart Foundation® has been incredible and amazing in helping us. I would tell other families to make sure to keep your faith in God even through the hard times with having a child with a CHD. I have seen God work through the people, and the doctors, my baby’s eyes, in everything, and everywhere. Thank you Emerson Rose® and to God.”
